Statistical Programmer I
Overview
The Statistical Programmers (SPs) are responsible to apply industry and regulatory standards to create and maintain standardized databases for clinical trial data. They are also responsible to provide statistical programming support for the implementation of data models and the reporting of clinical trials. They develop and perform quality control on tabulation datasets, analysis datasets and tables, figures and listings via an appropriate statistical analysis system (i.e. SAS®). They provide input to statistical analysis plan, table shells, data integration plan, and publications. They also liaise with other departments to properly implement data models (e.g. SDTM/ADaM). They research new technologies and techniques to improve efficiency of programming datasets/outputs.

Responsibilities
- Provides support for basic programming tasks and performs modification to existing programming under close supervision.
- Uses internal macros to automate study deliverables.
- Assist project teams to meet project deliverables, including input on requirements, specification, assignment status, and data irregularities.
- Adds input to and participates in programming and clinical informatics meetings.
- Provides active support on planned initiatives that facilitate process enhancements within clinical informatics.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrates working knowledge of computer programming, statistical analysis systems (SAS), and other procedural languages.
- Shows familiarity with clinical informatics procedures, workflows and software systems.
- Exhibits excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrates familiarity with tabulation and analysis data structure standards (SDTM, ADaM).

- Encounter problems that are varied but similar.
- Requires some fact-finding to define problem.
- Selects the best option from a set of defined procedures or based on precedence.
Impact
- Supports the achievement of goals through personal effort in own work area.
- Impact is limited to the immediate delivery of tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in a quantitative or scientific field. Advanced degree preferred.
- At least 1 year of statistical programming experience.
