Strategic & Financial Communications Intern

Opportunity
Gladstone Place is seeking a curious, detail-oriented, adaptable and conscientious intern to perform various research duties as well as provide general support to the firm and client teams, which includes completing research tasks, monitoring media, proofreading documents and presentations, and providing administrative support. This is a unique opportunity to intern at a boutique financial communications firm whose work spans various sectors and industries and combines finance, consulting and communications experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • General research duties including media backgrounders, company-specific research and industry analysis
  • Deeper dive research into specific corporate or industry issues
  • Help build media lists for client teams
  • Assist with creating/editing presentations     
  • Assist client teams with scheduling internal and client meetings
  • Help manage internal and external events
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Work well independently and as a team player
  • Solid research and critical thinking skills and an ability to evaluate large amounts of information
  • Strong attention to detail and ablility to multitask competing priorities
  • Ability to take on challenges and have a proactive approach to duties
  • Curiosity about the financial world and familiarity with financial terminology is a plus but not required
  • Advanced software skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint for PC)
  • Knowledge of Factiva.com, Cision and Bloomberg helpful
