HiBRID Lab Project/Program Manager

Background:
The Healthcare Innovation Bridging Research Informatics and Design (HiBRID) is seeking a Project/Program Manager to lead a portfolio of digital health research/innovation projects and support the growth of the group. This person will provide strategic direction, leadership and administrative direction for the Lab, in collaboration with HiBRID leadership and departmental administration. They will also continue to grow the collaborative relationship between HiBRID and the FuturePractice, an R&D unit within NYU Langone Health’s IT department. The role includes project management of both grant activities and related initiatives as well as HR management, oversight of projects and day-to-day management of the HiBRID staff. 

This effort is led by Dr. Devin Mann, Director of HiBRID, Director of the Center for Digital Health Equity and Senior Director of Informatics Innovation within NYU Langone Health's IT department.

Position: 
We are seeking a an experienced team leader to guide the research, innovation and business operations related to the Lab – to support lab vision and strategy through project prioritization, team processes and internal culture development. his position will report to Dr. Mann and work closely with the rest of the HiBRID faculty, students and staff as well as the FuturePractice team. They will be responsible for the following: 
 
  • Strategic planning for expansion of the Lab internally and externally 
  • Identification of grant opportunities and portfolio growth areas 
  • Performance management and professional development for HiBRID team members 
  • Outreach to implementation partners internally and externally 
  • In-depth, up-to-date knowledge of current state of literature to inform development of digital health research and innovation projects 
  • Development of standardized policies and procedures to support the day-to-day operations of HiBRID, including a project management system to track progress  
  • Facilitation of core activities by planning and helping to facilitate regular meetings of all partners 
  • Work with the assigned staff to plan meetings and meeting agendas for all partners to sustain their continued engagement in the project activities 
  • Management and submission of program-mandated deliverables, interim reports, financial reports and progress updates and participate in preparation of these reports 
  • Oversight of program compliance with financial and human resources management and contract development and review 
  • Manage budgeting and invoices 
  • Development of communication plans and materials 
  • Ensuring effective ongoing communications to internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong working knowledge of digital health research and innovation 
  • Specific interest in and ideally experience with clinical operations, digital health, EHRs, innovation and health care delivery; comfortable working with clinicians, researchers, designers and administrators 
  • Self-starter. Takes initiative, acts proactively, plans ahead.  
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience with group facilitation, design workshops and one-on-one interviews 
  • Excellent writing skills and experience authoring reports 
  • Creative and thoughtful problem solver 
  • Experienced in communications strategies and tools  
  • Strong team player 
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Minimum master’s degrees in public health, health information technology, public administration or related field; and at least 4+ years of relevant healthcare and/or project management experience 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Project, PowerPoint and a project management software (Clickup, Asana, etc.) 
  • Working knowledge of basic statistics 

Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Might require physical and manual dexterity needed to lift minor equipment. Must be able to travel locally and occasionally to national meetings
