This position is with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) located in Salem.

• We offer full medical, vision and dental plans with employees paying either 1-5% of their rates

• You will start out accruing 8 hours of sick and 8 hours of vacation leave per month, with your vacation leave accruals increasing every 5 years

• You have access to 24 hours (3 days) of personal business leave to use at your discretion each year

• You receive eleven paid holidays per year (this includes Thanksgiving and the day after)

• AND you will be automatically enrolled into the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) program.

• Perform system maintenance using testing procedures to pinpoint errors and inefficiencies. Propose and implements solution to problems. Assist users, programmers and analysts in resolving technical problems encountered on development servers and desktop computers. Test and review programs and/or program modifications written by oneself or another programmer. Provide base training to users in operation of new data processing systems and software packages.

• Test all modifications and verify the accuracy of modified output with the users prior to implementing revised programs. Create, test, and review new development process methodologies. Review and evaluate code developed by oneself and other programmers to ensure quality and adherence to established standards. Create project and task estimates and manages work within the development lifecycle and process. Develop software applications using disciplined software development processes, working on one or more development projects of small and large complexity at the same time. Test and implement application components the team has developed or modified. Ensure that design documents are drafted and kept up to date for all software applications and ensures documentation of code consistently throughout the development process.

• Provide input on estimating the feasibility and cost of producing software systems, along with schedule estimation for system implementation. Research new technologies, development tools, and software development methodologies and make recommendations

regarding acquisition and utilization.

• Perform a high volume of detailed, technical work in a multi-programming environment requiring continuous use of, and exposure computers on a daily basis. Work in close quarters in an open, modular concept environment with a diverse group of people, which includes regular walk-through traffic, and some machine noise. Must regularly coordinate production activities with computer operations and data entry operations staff. May occasionally be required to move a terminal, other data processing equipment, office furniture, etc. Will be required to travel occasionally to conduct or participate in training classes or for job assignments in-state.

• Requires a flexible work schedule that varies in the number of hours worked on a daily basis, but not necessarily each day, or a work schedule in which the starting and stopping times vary on a daily basis, but not necessarily each day. This includes working at all hours and workdays in excess of eight hours.

• Five (5) years of information systems experience in database administration/application development/production task development; OR

• Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND three (3) years of information systems experience in database administration/application development/production task development; OR

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND one (1) year of information systems experience in database administration/application development/production task development

• Developing Microsoft SQL development, debugging code written by others, C#, .Net, ASP.Net, HTML, XML, SQL Server, including SQL Stored Procedures

• Analysis/design/coding on Client Server and Web-based systems

• Information systems experience in programming

• Programming languages, frameworks, and programming suites experience in visual studio and .NET programming, HTML5, C#, Javascript, AngularJS, Entity Framework, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and Bootstrap

• Experience in the software development field
