Quality Engineering Rotational Development Program

The Worthington Industries Rotation Experience & Development (WIRED) Program candidate will participate in an 18-24 month rotational program in which they will be responsible for developing knowledge and business skills in the manufacturing industry, while building strong relationships during each rotational assignment. The WIRED program is to provide the knowledge and resources to accelerate the learning curve at Worthington Industries. The engineer works closely with several individuals at each rotation to ensure development goals are met. Strong emphasis will be placed on the ability to grow deep knowledge of the functional area. The engineer will be exposed to many facets of the business during 6-month rotational assignments at manufacturing sites. The career path will depend on interest, career alignment, and overall business need. At the end of the program, the candidate will role off into a full-time position with Worthington Industries.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
In this role, you will be immersed into the everyday quality engineering activities within the Worthington Steel division, including the overall quality strategy. Key responsibilities will be:
·      Determines root cause and implements corrective action to prevent reoccurrence on internal and external issues
·      Interact with customers and suppliers to drive improvements internally and externally – PPM reduction, product and process improvements, cost reduction
·      Ensure compliance to quality management system and customer-specific requirements
·      Evaluates, develops, and implements system documentation changes and standardization

·      Participate in continuous improvement and cost reduction projects

Education/Travel Required

·      Bachelor's degree in engineer or equivalent work experience in engineering

·      Community and/or collegiate involvement preferred

·      6-month rotation(s) to various facility locations will be required

·      Candidate must be relocatable at the end of the program
