Customer & Innovation Analyst

Telecommuting Policy: A plan has been created to officially rollout a hybrid work-from-home option that will take effect this September. This position will participate in this new policy. The policy requires working in the office 20% every week. 
 
This position will be based our corporate office in Denver, Colorado OR Minneapolis, MN.

Position Summary

This position is part of a two-year rotational program supporting various areas within our Customer & Innovation department!
 
The successful candidate(s) will support the Customer & Innovation Business Unit in areas related to Information technology, marketing, innovation, communications, cyber security, and customer care analytics.
 
About the Program
The program offers a broad experience of department and company business strategies, values, and contributions while preparing you for a next step in a career focused on innovation and customers. This program is a two-year rotational program, consisting of 4 six-month rotations into different business units within the Customer and Innovation department. Below is a sample of positions:
  • Business Process Analyst 
  • Application, Infrastructure & Information Technology Analyst
  • Product Development Analyst
  • Cyber Security Analyst
  • Business Analytics & Metrics Analyst
  • Data Governance & Science Analyst
  • Customer Channel Discovery and Strategy Analyst 
  • Project Management Analyst 
  • Strategic Partnership Analyst 
  • Internal Communications Analyst 

Essential Responsibilities
As part of the rotational program, candidates can expect to be asked to perform these responsibilities over the course of the 2-year program
  • Critical Thinking: Responsible for learning, designing, developing, executing, presenting, and knowledge transfer for projects and program assignments in areas of communications, marketing, technology, security, product development, and customer experience.
  • Analytics/Metrics/Reporting: Utilizes business area systems and data to deliver impactful metrics and other analytics and/or automated solutions. Analyze data and prepares reports that illustrate progress of plans against business results. Responds to requests for ad hoc analysis by leveraging data and information to independently create requested metrics and reports. Manages to the established reporting deadlines.
  • Project/Initiative Support: Assist in supporting project planning, including tracking of and reporting of project deliverables, and documentation to support key initiatives. Provides technical expertise and analytical guidance. May participate on cross-functional teams or projects for business area or companywide initiatives.
  • Communication: Prepares effective strategic communications around all business area activities. Determines which communication strategy or method will most successfully communicate different types of information based on corporate guidelines and geared to the intended audience. Partners with the team, business area leaders, and Corporate Communications to ensure successful communication strategy implementation.
  • Collaboration: Working with strategic external partners, Business Units across Xcel Energy, and team members to develop solutions to effectively deliver on operational goals and manage our costs to budget and forecast. Utilize collaboration tools to communicate and status work items.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in business administration or related field (engineering, computer science, information systems)
  • 0-2 years related experience.
  • Has basic knowledge of strategic planning, business management, and social media.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience in a related role is preferred.
  • Strong technical background in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to effectively use a variety of communication methods.
  • Experience in websites.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills, capable of working with teams.
