Mathematical Statistician/Data Scientist
This position is located in the Department of Defense (DoD), Office of Inspector General (OIG), Mission Support Team (MST), Data Analytics Team (DAT). The incumbent serves as a Mathematical Statistician leading data analytic projects for the DAT and present findings that directly impact and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of DoD OIG to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collect, assemble, and compile statistical insights for final tabulations.
- Prepare tables, charts, or graphs for presentations, reports and dashboards.
- Communicate and negotiate project requirements, scope, status, and prioritization to meet the DAT mission.
- Develop analytically driven and data mining insights for inclusion in reports issued by the DAT. This includes reports to upper management in the DoD OIG, other DoD organizations, the Government Accounting Office (GAO), and Congress.
- Conduct statistical investigations. This includes sampling designs and estimations, analyses of statistical evidence, and inferential predictions.
- Develop plans, programs, methods, procedures, and techniques for collecting, processing, compiling, documenting, and presenting statistical data.
- Provide statistical consultation services, subject matter expert advice, content editing, training, and interpretation for statistical work products to internal and external customers.
