Fast-growing commercial real estate firm seeks Research Manager for high-profile role that will gather/distill/provide value-add insights/intelligence and conduct market analysis to generate digestible, institutional-quality research content for internal/external audiences. Excellent opportunity for entrepreneurial/ambitious, analytically rigorous, creative/clear thinker with top-notch research/communication skills. Must demonstrate competence with advanced data collection/management/interpretation tools. Experience with commercial real estate helpful but not required given strong research/data background.
 
Responsibilities:
Work with Senior MD of Research/Communications to produce digestible/innovative research content that adds value to business and differentiates firm from competitors
Prepare quarterly reports for Chicago market (including suburbs and other relevant submarkets)
Source/capture/store/share statistical data to generate value-add insights and build compelling narratives
Surveil industry/non-industry media for critical stories/actionable intelligence/emerging trends
Compile/maintain user-friendly lease/sales comps database and compile/update tenants-in-the-market list
Maintain broker contact lists for marketing purposes/events
Track large vacancy increases/leasing agent changes/investment sales/buildings on the market/new development that may prove useful in identifying leads
Assist brokers on pitches with any required information
 
Requirements:
Advanced understanding of research methodologies; facility with data collection/management/analytics
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with or ability to quickly learn CRE software (CoStar, CompStack, Real Capital Analytics, MSCI), workflow management software (Wrike), and CRM software (RealNex, Delius)
Ability to balance multiple projects in high-stakes work environment; high degree of professionalism with ability to confidently present complex information to internal stakeholders/external clients; strong problem-solving/decision-making skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to give/accept/apply frank feedback
