Financial Analyst - Aerospace, Defense & Government Services - Los Angeles

Houlihan Lokey’s Aerospace, Defense & Government Services Group (ADG) is an integral part of the Global Industrial practice and provides M&A advisory as well as capital raising, restructuring, and financial advisory services to leading aerospace, defense and government services companies. With approximately 30 investment bankers located in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., our ADG Group is among the largest of its kind on Wall Street.
 
Job Description
 
As a Financial Analyst in ADG, you will be based in Los Angeles and work on a variety of transactions that provide exposure to various investment banking services, including mergers and acquisitions, private placements of debt and equity, restructuring and financial valuation. In addition to executing transactions, the ADG Group is responsible for providing industry-specific knowledge and expertise to current & new clients. As a member of our team, you will support in the development of industry intelligence and various supporting analyses.
 
As a Financial Analyst in ADG, your primary responsibilities will include the following:

·       Preparing, analyzing, and explaining historical and projected financial information
·       Coordinating and performing business due diligence
·       Preparing confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches, and other presentations
·       Conducting research on sectors, companies and potential buyers
·       Performing valuation and other financial analyses to support current & prospective clients
·       Assisting in the marketing and planning of various transactions
·       Developing relationships and maintaining direct contact with clients, prospective clients, and professional advisors
 
Basic Qualifications
 
B.A./B.S.—Preferably in finance, accounting, business, or applied economics. The ideal candidate would have 1-2 years of investment banking, accounting or consulting experience, strong interest in the aerospace & defense or industrial technology sectors, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments in both team and independent settings. COVID vaccination required, subject to applicable state and federal law.

Preferred Qualifications
 
In addition, the ideal candidate would possess demonstrable experience in executing sell- and buy-side transactions, strong Excel and financial modeling skills, strong analytical abilities and knowledge of accounting & applied financial theory, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
