Clinical Research Assistant, Mental Health Data Science, Pre Medical Track

Our group has several focuses including 1) investigating smartphone-based digital phenotyping to predict relapse in mental health and 2) developing digital health tools for supporting depression and anxiety care. Our goal is to understand how digital signals generated by the everyday use of smartphones may be associated with symptomatology and to improve the quality and accessibility of treatment for mental illness through education, research, and innovation in digital psychiatry. Opportunities are also available to be involved in supervised clinical and neurocognitive assessments. Multiple publications may also be afforded, as well as opportunities to present at conferences around the country. Prior research assistants have each had first-author publications and have presented at national or international meetings.

Due to the data-driven nature of our team's projects, working knowledge of statistics and some programming experience are required (Python or R, but students with experience in other languages such as MATLAB will be considered). Engineering, computer science, math, or related majors are particularly encouraged to apply. The position is well suited for this seeking to attend medical school and used by many before for that path.

Must be able to commit full-time (five days a week, ~40 hours) in person at BIDMC. Remote work may replace in-person work only as dictated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Base salary does not include healthcare and other benefits which are provided as well.
