Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division is looking for operational analysts and modelers to support the Military Effectiveness Group (MEG). This group evaluates the warfighting effectiveness of the Navy’s force of ships, submarines, and weapon systems to inform force structure analysis and future ship program design requirements. The MEG uses agent-based modeling and simulation (M&S) and other operational analysis tools and techniques as necessary to provide qualitative and quantitative insights to inform Navy leadership. The MEG team works closely with the sailors, engineers, and scientists throughout the Navy enterprise to translate operational needs and effectiveness to platform and system design requirements.

The MEG translates study objectives to analytical questions and metrics, design approaches using operations research techniques to answer questions, conduct the modeling or exercise other methods to develop results and provide key insights and analysis to study leadership. The operational analyst should have a deep understanding of probability and statistics and be able to translate analysis results into actionable insights and recommendations.
