The Nutrition Policy Institute (NPI) is a research center within the Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of California. NPI conducts and translates policy-relevant research to transform environments for healthy children, families, and communities. Our work focuses on increasing equity and sustainability in food systems and food and nutrition programs and policies at the local, state, and national levels. We work with multiple partners and funders to examine ways to ensure children, families, and communities have access to the financial, social, and physical resources they need to secure an adequate and healthy diet and to be physically active.  
 
We are looking for a Research Data Analyst to join our team. This position works on extramural funded research projects in collaboration with research staff, with supervision from principal Investigators and input from senior statisticians and data analysts. This position will focus on working on evaluation studies conducted by NPI through its CalFresh Healthy Living contract with the California Department of Public Health.
 
The Research Data Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting a wide variety of research data. This position designs and conducts research including selecting data samples, developing research instruments, analyzing collected information according to established statistical methods, and developing recommendations based on research findings. Prepares dashboards, charts, tables, and other visual aids to interpret and communicate data and results.
 
The University of California issues policies essential for the safety and well-being of the community, including requirements for employees to be appropriately vaccinated for COVID-19, or to have an approved exception/exemption on file. New employees will be asked to provide validation of full compliance of UC vaccination policies.
 
This position is a Career appointment that is 100% fixed (option to work a flexible percentage with the minimum of 60% FTE).
