Power Systems Analyst

The position will be located in our Worcester, MA office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ÿ Supporting the firm’s market analytics and consulting activities

Ÿ Researching electric and natural gas market data

Ÿ Maintaining energy market databases

Ÿ Building and using power systems, electric and gas infrastructure planning, and price forecasting models

Ÿ Analyzing loads and resources

Ÿ Researching utility tariffs and regulatory filings

Ÿ Provide general support for consulting and marketing operations

REQUIREMENTS

Ÿ Proficiency in power systems analysis tools including PowerWorld, TARA, PSS/E or PSLF

Ÿ Strong understanding of electrical engineering concepts including but not limited to reliability, load flow, stability, short circuit, voltage regulation, transients, power factor

Ÿ Highly quantitative, with the ability to do thorough analysis with quality, integrity, and objectivity

Ÿ Team-oriented problem solver with a ‘can do’ attitude

Ÿ Strong Excel skills, with an ability to understand and build models that use features such as arithmetic and index/match formulas, if/then logic, pivot tables, macros, etc.

Ÿ Experience with Python or R is desirable

Ÿ Strong English and communication skills, both orally and in writing, to engage with clients

Ÿ The ability to manage multiple tasks in a time-sensitive environment

Ÿ Open to putting in the work needed to ensure successful completion of client engagements

Ÿ Willing to gain the specialized functional skills and industry knowledge needed to be successful

QUALIFICATIONS

Ÿ Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering with power system specialization and coursework

Full-time
