Job Summary:
Veleta Capital, a premier private equity and investment management firm, is looking to add a talented Commercial Real Estate Analyst based in Los Angeles. The primary responsibilities will be for the financial modeling and analysis of commercial real estate loans. This role will work directly with the Managing Director and will be involved in every stage of the loan transaction including, origination, sizing, underwriting, closing, servicing, and asset management.
·        Financial modeling of commercial real estate loan transactions using market data, property and site characteristics, sale and rent comps, property operating data, and improvement budgets to underwrite and structure loan scenarios
·        Review of borrower and management qualifications
·        Manage the due diligence process and be the driving force in interaction with clients and team members to provide updates as progress is made towards loan closing 
·        Understand and review real estate documentation including: leases, appraisals, environmental assessments, PCAs, and any additional reports, such as seismic or engineering reports on an as needed basis
·        Communicate and problem-solve daily with teammates, clients, vendors, and any other third parties involved in the transaction
·        Assist sales, operations, and underwriting in tracking and updating pipeline reports. Input notes in CRM and LOS
·        Participate in daily team meetings with deal team to discuss transaction statuses, transaction needs, potential issues that may slow progress, and market trends
·        Update the underwriting model as new operating data is received during the transaction process
·        Prepare credit memos for each transaction for submission to the Loan Committee
·        Assist with post-closing activities, such as servicing and asset management as needed
·        Handle additional projects as assigned
·        Bachelor’s degree required, with a focus in Real Estate, Business, or Economics preferred
·        1-3 years of experience in real estate, finance; or similar financial services
·        Self-motivated, team oriented, and strong time management skills to prioritize deadlines
·        Excellent organizational, interpersonal, quantitative, writing and communication skills; able to interface with clients
·        Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data
