Derivative Operations Specialist
Position Summary
- The Derivatives Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting TCW’s derivative trading activity. This position will require a functional understanding of derivatives, fixed income, and equities workflows. A strong understanding of Futures, Options, OTC derivatives (swaps), FX, and other centrally cleared instruments is required. This position will work closely with the Derivative Operations Supervisor and will liaise with other key groups within the firm, including the Trading Desk, Client Service, and Compliance.
Essential Duties
- Assist with the set up and processing of derivative securities and transactions
- Liaise with sell-side partners to confirm details of various transactions
- Reconcile positions vs. counterparties
- Respond to monthly, quarterly and annual client questionnaires
- Respond to complex ad-hoc research requests
- Support projects and research for senior managers, partners and portfolio managers
- Special projects and research for systems enhancements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics or similar field
- At least 1 year experience with fixed income investments, including derivatives, preferably at a “buy side” company
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of fixed income securities and derivatives

Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of derivatives, (swaps, futures, options, fx, etc.) a plus
- Knowledge of Markit and TriResolve
- Understanding of the various industry protocols and regulations is a plus but not required
