Procurement Specialist

JOB SUMMARY: 
The Procurement Specialist will lead and report against the second source strategy across various categories. Responsible for supply selection, cost & capital management, risk assessment & mitigation, supplier management at all Indium Corp locations. In coordination with Product Management, Supplier Quality and Engineering, the Procurement Specialist will analyze manufacturability, provide should cost modeling, and work with the global sourcing team to identify, approve, and implement strategies for second sourcing. The Procurement Specialist will establish and leverage strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure cost, quality, and on time delivery targets are meeting for all products and services
 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES): 
• Support and recommends the development of second sourcing plan to mitigate supply chain risks for various product lines across multiple categories 
• Work with Supply Chain Manager to negotiate Component Cost, Tooling Costs, Minimum Order Quantity, Lead Times and Delivery Schedules with Suppliers 
• Coordinate design reviews and work with Engineering to assure that product is meeting design for manufacturability (DFM) 
• Manage and update BOM specifications, drawing, 3D models, Stimulations videos in the internal database system 
• Manage multiple projects, coordinate activities and track progress/schedules 
• Monitor market conditions, new technologies, identify supply chain challenges and opportunities driven by economic or acts of god 
• Work closely with manufacturing, shipping/receiving, and project management personnel to avoid any adverse production impact from supplier delivery delays 
• Assist Engineering in Change Control Process, Product Specifications and Documentation for production released products/processes 
• Perform other job duties and special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS: 
• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or Project Management required 
• Strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in MS Excel and MS Power Point 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Ability to work cross functionally in a dynamic environment 
• High degree of flexibility to collaborate with worldwide teams 
• Strong work ethic and goal-oriented – no task is too big or too small 
• Strong Analytical skills with demonstrated ability to solve problems and make recommendations 
• Knowledge and understanding of Operations Management 
• Lean Six Sigma certification a plus
