Business Intelligence Analyst
POSITIONS PURPOSE:
This position will work with business users to identify their data needs, help build and connect users to trusted data sources, and create regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards for end users. The candidate will work with data stewards and data owners in departments across the organization to build and refine shared data sources, build dashboards for end users, and establish and implement best practices for visual analytics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & PERCENT OF TIME:
Business Analysis (20%)
- Collaborate with business process owners, data stewards and owners, and data consumers to gain an understanding of current processes and systems that have a direct impact on the quality of the enterprise data
- Collaborate with various departments to achieve business results using descriptive and predictive analytics
- This role requires a degree of creativity and has a strong understanding of data, and can interpret data for internal customers with a varying degree of data knowledge
Content Creation (40%)
- Build dashboards and publish trusted data sources for use in making business decisions
- Assist in the preparation, cleansing, and verification of data
- Use business intelligence software to generate metrics and develop actionable recommendations
- Be the “go to” person for creating effective dashboards that support data-driven decisions for the business
End User Support & Training (30%)
- Provide data management, education, and support to multiple departments and users
- Provide support to content authors across the business
- Train and coach others on REG governance for the business intelligence platform
- Lead internal training sessions to grow use of REG BI tools
Methods & Culture (10%)
- Promote culture of collaboration, problem solving, risk-taking, and innovation
- Support implementation of business intelligence tools and methods
- Collaboratively develop processes to capture, prioritize, and track data usage across the REG business intelligence platform
Other frequent duties
- Travel on behalf of the company (less than 5% of the time)
- Perform other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Education and Experience:
- 2-year degree or equivalent work experience
- 1+ year of work experience in business intelligence or data analytics
Skills Required:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong business analysis skills
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to communicate complex analysis of project health
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Video conferencing (Zoom, etc.)
Special skills, knowledge, or certifications preferred:
- Tableau
- Data warehousing
- JD Edwards experience
- Oracle Transportation Management experience
- Python, R, or similar experience
