Job Description And Duties
Position(s) will be located in one of the following offices based on the location of the selected candidate:
Fairfield, Fresno, Oakland, Redding, Sacramento (Headquarters), Salinas, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Rosa, Bakersfield, Cerritos, Culver City, El Centro, Glendale, Irvine, Rancho Cucamonga, Rancho Mirage, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Clarita, Ventura, West Covina.

Travel will be required up to twenty-five percent (25%) of the time to the CDTFA Headquarters in Sacramento, CA or to field offices.

This position is designated as “remote-centered” per CDTFA’s Telework Policy and Guidelines; however, changes to the telework program are at the department’s discretion.

Under close supervision of the Staff Management Auditor (SMA), Internal Audit Bureau (IAB), the Tax Auditor (TA), independently conducts the least to moderately difficult audits which include financial, operational, information technology (IT), and mandatory audits and other evaluations of the California Tax and Fee Administration's (CDTFA) field offices and headquarter operations. The TA prepares reports, including audit findings and recommendations, and is responsible for identifying high-risk or urgent findings and bringing them to the attention of IAB management. The TA assists other internal auditors within the IAB on the more difficult audit assignments. The TA's performance of duties and conduct shall align with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards) and Code of Ethics.
