Summer 2022 Family Economic Opportunity Intern
The John M. Green Summer 2022 Intern working in the Family Economic Opportunity program area will give lift – focus, bandwidth, drive, enthusiasm, perspectives – to our innovative work to help design solutions that address the barriers that single mothers face and building out program area operations. The Intern is responsible for contributing to the first phase of innovation by conducting early research and collaborating with team members from both the Family Economic Opportunity and the Center for Best Practices Innovation Program teams. The Intern will also contribute to the success and effectiveness of Child Tax Credit projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet regularly with Family Economic Opportunity and Program Innovation teams and participate in organizational meetings as needed.
- Activate the Family Economic Opportunity Innovation Lab work in collaboration with the SVP and the Program Innovation team.
- Use Asana project management application to manage the projects, including learning the application, setting up project timetables, milestones, tasks, and collaborators; managing task completion and ongoing data refresh; and related.
- Engage in a holistic research project effort, with guidance from the SVP and Program Innovation to that examines the economic mobility pathways of single mothers.
- Learn about Share Our Strength’s Child Tax Credit strategies/activities
- Review and analyze existing program documentation and develop new materials as needed
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Rising undergraduate, junior or senior, or recent college graduate
- MS Office proficiency; willingness to learn project management applications such as Asana.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills, including identifying and working through challenges, are underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on multi-step, detail-oriented projects in a fluid environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; experience/interest in presenting to audiences.
- Demonstrated interest in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
