JOB SUMMARY:
The University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison) Division of Information Technology (DoIT)- IT Project Management Office is looking for multiple professionals with proven business analysis experience, and excellent facilitation and collaboration skills. The preferred candidates will excel in team-oriented environments and have a background working with a wide range of stakeholders to solve, and/or redesign, complex business problems. Experience understanding, documenting and supporting implementations of enterprise, vendor solutions in a complex and decentralized organization is a plus.

UW-Madison has two initiatives that seek business analysis talent. UW-Madison is transitioning our PeopleSoft human resource and shared financial management enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions to Workday. Business analysts are needed to elicit business and technology requirements from a variety of human resource, finance, and student information solutions across campus that need to consume or contribute data through integration with our HR and Finance ERPs. This will be a multi-year engagement. The second initiative involves a variety of campus departments who are interested in transitioning their processes into the campus Salesforce CRM environment. Business analysts are needed to conduct solutions discovery by eliciting business and technology requirements, aligning Salesforce capabilities against requirements, working with enterprise Salesforce team to architect future state, and onboarding campus partners Salesforce. Experience as a Salesforce business analyst, consultant, or administrator would be a plus.

The IT Project Management Office serves the UW-Madison campus as well as the University of Wisconsin System with project management and business analysis services, which includes:
-Helping campus partners turn ideas into projects that succeed.
-Discovery of the problem to be solved, evaluating the business case and guiding decisions on the cost and risk of the project.
-Assisting campus partners achieve their strategic visions through evaluating current state business processes and supporting technologies, and re-engineering those processes and technologies to meet future state goals.
-Partnering with campus stakeholders to work through uncertainty and ambiguity at the start of a project without getting bogged down in analysis paralysis.
-Bringing the right people together at the right times, building relationships, and helping people work through complexity and conflict.
-Translating between the functional and the technical business of project work.

EDUCATION:
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
-Experience working in a diverse team environment identifying problems, leading the elicitation of business needs and requirements, analyzing information skillfully, and developing solutions and making recommendations to solve complex business problems and streamline business processes.
-Advanced knowledge of business process improvement, design practices, and problem solving.
-Demonstrated solid understanding of information technology and experience documenting and analyzing current state architecture and system relationships and architecting future state.
-Excellent communication skills including group presentation and facilitation, ability to be clear and positive during consensus building, and exceptional listening skills.

Preferred
-Experience with Agile teams.
-Experience developing, implementing, and/or managing large, complex operational systems.
-Prior experience in higher education.
-Experience with Salesforce.
-Obtained certifications (Prosci Certified Change Practitioner, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP))

The candidate selected for this position may perform a combination of on-site and remote work subject to an approved remote work agreement (RWA) agreement. Remote work requires successful candidates to possess their own high-speed internet and phone to perform the work on a university provided computer. This position requires some work to be performed in-person at a designated on-campus location, and some work being performed remotely.

APPOINTMENT TYPE, DURATION:

SALARY:
Minimum $85,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
