The Senior Proposal Manager (SPM) will manage and support the proposal development process through interaction with the assigned Capture Manager(s), proposal development team (including coordinator and proposal writers), key operational and department personnel and other team members. The SPM is responsible for deliverables required of the RFP both in pre-submission and post award timeframes.
This position is a working lead and is responsible for all aspects of the proposal development process, from initiation to completion of fully compliant responses to RFPs, RFIs and similar items. This includes researching, gathering data, organizing, writing, editing, and producing proposals. Additionally, the SPM ensures that proposals are processed timely, meet RFP requirements and editorial specifications, adhere to established in-house or other standards for quality (e.g., incorporation of graphics, coverage of the subject, and editorial style), provides scheduling and guidance to other proposal participants and ensures version control of all in-development proposal sections.
The Senior Proposal Manager demonstrates a high level of skill in use of the English language; brings hands-on experience and expertise in the proposal development process within an US Government environment; is able to write persuasively to sell a point of view; is fully conversant with software to support the process; and can review and edit text as needed. The SPM supervises other Business Development positions including the Proposal Coordinator and Writers.
