Architectural Lighting Designer

Work with innovative clients on exciting projects both domestically and internationally in projects ranging from museums, theatres, and historic renovations to corporate facilities, transit centers, urban parks, and educational institutions. Explore and experiment with light fixture and materials mock-ups in our in-house light lab, as well as on-site testing of the latest lighting technologies. Broaden your design skills and make an impact in this rapidly changing industry.

Based in San Francisco, our firm has been at the forefront of design since 1972 and we want to share our knowledge and experience with you! Enjoy autonomy while being part of a collaborative and multi-disciplinary crew. You will have unwavering support while gaining experience that matters.

We have embraced a hybrid work schedule with 2-3 days in the studio each week as a team. The other weekdays we work from home. We would consider remote-only work depending on your experience and time zone.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related discipline
  • 6 months to 2 years of experience in architectural lighting design
  • Experience working with project teams from concept design through construction
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, AGi32 and Bluebeam
  • Understand how to perform computer-generated and by-hand lighting calculations
  • Bonus points for experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Rhino, and hand drafting
  • Experience working with light fixture manufacturers and representatives to select products and produce light fixture schedules based on design concepts
  • Authorized to work in the United States
