Business Systems Analyst

The Department of Health Services seeks an experienced IT professional to become their Business Systems Analyst!
 
Starting salary up to $47.32/hour ($98,762/year), a cash allowance of $600/month, and a competitive total compensation package!*

Join Our Team
 
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Health Services, the Business Systems Analyst combines business planning expertise with information technology to translate Department of Health Services (DHS) business requirements into system deployments and integration. This position plans, manages, and executes projects; performs analysis and solves problems; and delivers presentations to management. The Business Systems Analyst serves as DHS's liaison with County IT and IT vendors; updates, implements, and maintains procedures; researches and resolves technical and functional issues; and documents issues, action items, user requirements, and deliverables. Duties also include:
 
  • Developing proposals, models, and plans for the design and installation of new applications and systems
  • Directing, plans, and develops application end-user documentation
  • Assisting in establishing project scope, objectives, budgets, and schedules
  • Maintaining knowledge of the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems 
  • Monitoring production batch and ad hoc jobs[CG1] to ensure proper functioning and completion of business operations
  • Researching and resolving technical and functional issues
  • Performing user acceptance testing
  • Coordinating staff training and development efforts 
 
The ideal Business Systems Analyst candidate possesses:

  • Two or more years of advanced experience with Crystal Reports, Excel, and Access, including experience using pivot tables and queries
  • Three or more years of experience interfacing with and supporting multiple users across various functional areas, preferably supporting Electronic Health Records (EHR) or other health information technologies
  • Knowledge of healthcare business systems, and Medi-Cal billing and reporting systems
  • Knowledge of SQL, SQL Reporting Services (SRSS), Power-BI, Java, and C#
  • Excellent documentation, communication, report writing, and presentation skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of project planning software
