CS Central Engineering (CSCE) owns the strategic and systematic development, standardization, implementation, and measurement of key central engineering functions to drive efficiency, reliability, and world class cost optimization to support our global facilities portfolio. The scope of the Central Engineering Organization within Corporate Services consists of asset management, cost engineering, enabling growth, and automation.
The CSCE organization is hiring Facilities Engineering Interns to support our US fab facilities. Internships will not require relocation, but occasional travel to site may be allowed. This is a full-time position for the summer.
As a Facilities Engineering Intern your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Utilize mechanical or industrial engineering skills to improve the efficiency, systems and operations of our global semiconductor fabs
  • Use engineering skills and disciplined analytics and problem solving to help your team deliver best-in-class system reliability including safe, uninterrupted factory operation.
  • Deliver operational efficiency, maintenance, testing, and commissioning solutions.
  • Develop and edit technical documents including operating documents, job plans, and troubleshooting documents
  • Identify and implement opportunities to achieve the lowest cost of ownership to key stakeholders while maintaining reliability.
  • Support our safety, reliability, and environmental objectives.
  • Provide support for multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Lead in planning, design, reconfiguration, construction, maintenance, and modifications - everything that goes into supporting Intel's most valuable manufacturing facilities.
  • Work in a collaborative environment, partnering with engineering team peers to ensure cross-discipline connections are understood and accounted for.
  • Drive improvement projects to meet design criteria, scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Focus areas may be HVAC, Point-of-Use abatement, process environmental control, or other facility mechanical systems including chillers, boilers and exhaust.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience. Position not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • The candidate must be enrolled in a Master's degree program in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent Engineering or STEM field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge in engineering principles and technical problem solving
  • Data visualization, data analytics
  • Programming skills a plus (Python, etc)
