BI Analyst

Indeed is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst in New York City to join its growing Advanced Analytics & Automation team within Sales. The BI Analyst will partner closely with our CSI Content & Programs to help build connections from Seismic into Google Big Query. They will also create ad-hoc data queries and analysis in SQL/GBQ which will allow them to create recommendations to help shape our client narrative. Deliverables can be as simple as an Excel/Google Sheet with the necessary data collected from a wide range of sources, all the way up to a brand new datasource with a live connection into our content generation platform. 

Creating and managing Tableau reports and dashboards connecting to heterogeneous datasets (MYSQL, Snowflake, etc.), which are on-prem as well as Cloud based.

Python Coding for reports, dashboards, and visualizations. Using Python, Pandas, and Numpy to help your stakeholders improve their performance, and sometimes designing algorithms to decipher deeper why and how questions.

Understanding your business stakeholders’ objectives, the metrics that are the most important to them, and how they measure their performance.

Turning business requirements into technical requirements.

Finding and understanding the correct data sources for a given analysis.

Learning from, and sharing knowledge and skills with your teammates to grow BI’s total impact to the organization.

  • Partner with our Sales and Client Success teams to understand the business goals and objectives, and become a subject matter expert in what we can and should do to support them
  • Appropriately prioritize incoming and existing requests to ensure alignment across teams and the work being performed has the highest impact to Indeed

Who you are

  • 2+ years of creating and managing reports and interactive dashboards in Tableau
  • 2+ Years of SQL. Must have the ability to write complex, highly-optimized queries across large volumes of data
  • 1+ years of solid Python programming skills to cleanse, manipulate, and present data, particularly using Pandas and Numpy

Ability to explain complicated or technical information in a simple way to non-technical audiences

  • Curiosity and passion about data, visualization and solving problems
  • Creativity to determine the best solution for a real-world problem with quantitative data 
  • Experience with reporting, descriptive statistics, probability, and cleaning big datasets 
  • Willingness to question the validity, accuracy of data and assumptions
  • Enjoyment from collaborating with others in team environment 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Client service mentality, adaptability and willingness to collaborate openly with other functions 
  • Experience with fast-paced, sales-force driven business models
