The Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute has an exciting new opportunity for a PhD Researcher to lead the research at Hennepin Healthcare's Redleaf Center for Family Healing located in in downtown Minneapolis, MN. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Researcher will conduct quantitative and qualitative research and program evaluation that aligns with the mission, vision and objectives of the Redleaf Center for Family Healing. Provide content expertise in one or more of these fields: perinatal mental health, infant and early child mental health, health services research, program evaluation, and health economics research. Take a lead role in research funding identification and grant writing, study conceptualization, planning, execution, performance of data analyses, budget oversight, preparation and presentation of results in manuscript form and oral presentations and supervise other research staff. Collaborate with internal and external investigators and take a lead role in communicating with study sponsors. This position may include an academic appointment at the University of Minnesota. Opportunities for clinical work can also be explored.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Provides research and program evaluation for the Redleaf Center
  • Provides content expertise in one or more of these fields: perinatal mental health, infant and early child mental health, health services research and health economic research.
  • Uses quantitative and qualitative skills in developing research studies, protocols, data analyses, results preparation, and results presentation.
  • Performs tasks related to the execution and operations of research projects
  • Takes a lead role in progress and end-of-year reports for study sponsors
  • Presents results of research studies, both in the form of peer-reviewed publications and presentations at professional meetings, non-academic and social media formats, community forums, and other settings to share and learn from our research.
  • Provides leadership in development of econometric methods, the use of economic data, and appropriate application of economic analyses.
  • Works closely with internal and external collaborators
  • Prepares study proposal and analysis plan
  • Prepares study reports/manuscripts
  • Directs or supervises other research staff (e.g., research assistants, statisticians, collaborators)
  • Performs and interprets statistical analysis as needed

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Education/Experience:
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be a PhD in Health Services Research, Psychology or related field and a MS in Statistics/Biostatistics with at least five years of experience in the area of perinatal mental health, infant and early child mental health, health services research, program evaluation, health economics research or in a related area. Extensive experience with developing and executing research studies, publishing and presenting results, and collaborating across disciplines.

Skill, Knowledge & Ability (SKA):
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in developing quantitative and qualitative research questions and methodologies and executing research studies, including economic analyses.
  • Very strong written skills; strong verbal and social media communication and oral presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Past publications on perinatal mental health, infant and early child mental health, health services research, health economics research or related areas.
  • Experience with obtaining funding from either government or private entities
  • Experience maintaining investigator relationships within health systems and community partners and building networks of individuals to conduct multi-site research
  • Experience with program evaluation and quality improvement projects
  • Training in equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Demonstrated professionalism with high standards for attendance, punctuality, empathy, flexibility, ability to maintain confidentiality and manage time effectively.

SALARY and BENEFITS:
$90k+ DOQ
Full funding for 2 years
50% funding for years 3 and 4 plus the expectation the Researcher will secure 50% non-Redleaf funding (potentially from internal or external partners)
25% funding for year 5 and beyond, 75% non-Redleaf funding
