Supply Chain Analyst

JOB SUMMARY: 
The supply chain analyst will be responsible for global inventory metrics, analyzing inventory positions, leading non-metal excluding chemicals 2nd source initiatives as well as track and measure critical supply inventory positions. This position will also manage tolling and reclaim conversion activities and reporting. This key role within the Supply Chain Services department will work on optimization of processes associated with inventory management as well as standardized inventory reports across the organization. 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES): 
• Monthly review of global powder position and reporting 
• Owner of non-metal, excluding chemicals, 2nd Source initiatives 
• Critical Supply Management 
o Track and measure critical supplies for all plants, ensure plants are notified when critical supplies not meeting desired levels o Monthly audit of inventory on hand to ensure process is solid 
• Reclaim and Tolling Transactions: 
o Handle metal reclaim and tolling process, tracking, transactions and reporting 
• Inventory: 
o Support development of inventory strategies and metrics 
o Report inventory metrics by plant while providing analytical comments on changes month on month or variances to strategic plan 
o Conduct inventory analysis to ensure inventory turns meeting or exceeding goals or to provide recommendations and solutions for better inventory management 
o Owner of inventory movement processes and ensuring inventory movement processes functioning as expected 
o Standardize inventory metrics across plants reports using excel tools and new information system 
o Research anomalies in inventory metrics 
o Makes recommendations to Director on inventory management to achieve efficient levels of inventory balances 
o Being an active member of our S&OP process to provide insight into new product launches and or changes in demand that would drive changes to inventory levels 
o Identifies basis for excess and obsolete inventory 
o Research reasons for late orders and make recommendations on inventory levels 
• Perform other job duties and special projects as assigned 
REQUIREMENTS: 
• Bachelors Degree in business, supply chain or finance required or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 
• Excellent working knowledge of excel and power point 
• Strong Analytical skills with demonstrated ability to solve problems and make recommendations 
• Knowledge and understanding of Lean Six Sigma philosophy 
• Project management certification a plus 
• Solid understanding of inventory planning, methods and techniques
