Financial Analyst

Saab, Inc. Surveillance in Syracuse, NY is looking for a Financial Analyst to join the Finance organization. This position will report directly to the Naval and Air Traffic Management Controller and provide wide ranging financial support for Surveillance contracts.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Support the development and maintenance of the program baselines including analyzing potential needs for updates
  • Interface with internal and external program teams to track and provide insights into actual versus forecasted financial performance
  • Ensure proper recording of program revenue, cash flow, expenditures and assisting with the generation of Estimates at Completion (EAC)
  • Initiate customer billings, track receivables and assist in past due receivable collections if needed
  • Collaborate across functions to confirm contract projects are executing to budget and delivering on schedule
  • Support accuracy of proposal costing and pricing efforts including cash flow analysis and currency hedging
  • Advise program team members and senior management of financial health of programs
  • Prepare, package and present external and internal financial reporting
  • Work with Program Managers to ensure program forecasts are accurately reflected in business P&L and cash flow forecasts for the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Provide inputs on process improvement efforts

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel including but not limited to pivot tables, formulas and graphing
  • Proficient with US GAAP, IFRS and other general accounting rules and principles
  • Strong analytical and communication skills and ability to multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
