Position Overview

Job Description: MMC’s research department (MMCR) is hiring a Market Research Analyst on a full-time, direct-hire basis. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Research, the Market Research Analyst will use their strong quantitative analysis skills and advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge to handle large volumes of data. This is a great opportunity for candidates with a minimum of one-year of experience as a Real Estate Analyst or Financial Analyst to continue to strengthen and broaden their skills in the commercial real estate field while working closely with individuals who are well established in the industry. This position is in San Francisco, CA, and the majority of the work will be done remotely, at least initially.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Handle large volumes of economic, demographic, and real estate data
  • Assist in the maintenance of existing statistical models
  • Create and update MS PowerPoint presentations
  • Write (at least) first drafts of analytical summaries and economic briefings produced by the department
  • Additional editing and project responsibilities will be part of overall job duties, as they arise
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to administer department goals, deliverables and infrastructure is a must
  • Ability to manage data and statistical models
  • Proficiency in the entire Microsoft Office suite is a requirement
  • Above-average skill in MS Excel (ability to use pivot tables, create formulas and link multiple workbooks, etc.) is required
  • Additional experience in MS Publisher and database or statistical software is a plus
  • Familiarity with economic, GIS and real estate data and vendors is beneficial
  • Must be extremely organized
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 1 year experience as a Real Estate Analyst or Financial Analyst
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in a real estate company in some capacity
