Remote Project Manager / Landscape Architect

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking candidates for the position of Remote Project Manager/Landscape Architect to join our team. We are looking for designers who are driven, passionate about their work, deadline oriented, articulate, and responsive to a collaborative design environment. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefit package including paid vacation, insurance; medical, dental, vision, and term life, plus participation in a retirement (401k) plan and bonus program.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Lead landscape architecture projects from conceptual design through construction administration, including management of sub-consultants and production staff
o Assume responsibility (with support) for the production, organization, coordination, and accuracy of all documents and presentation documents
o Exercise discretion and independent judgement in the performance of duties
o Lead multiple projects in various stages of development simultaneously and work cooperatively with the principal team to ensure design integrity and graphic consistency
o Communicate with and coordinate the efforts of project team members, clients, consultants, contractors and agency officials
o Manage project schedule, workflow, and anticipate required staff resources and delegate accordingly
o Work with the project team to produce presentation materials for client and agency presentations
o Research and specify materials, products and systems
o Attend job-site meetings, issue supplemental instructions, review submittals and shop drawings during the Construction Observation phase
o Coach and mentor junior staff, share experiences and lessons learned to increase the firm’s common knowledge
 
 
REMOTE RESPONSIBILITIES:
o West coast working hours of 8:30-5:30 +/- 1hr
o Travel Requirements:
  • Initial In-person 1-week training session in our Monterey, CA office
  • In-person visits to service various projects, 2-5 days anticipated monthly, travel costs reimbursed
  • Responsible for all team meeting coordination and communications
 

SKILLS REQUIRED IN THE FOLLOWING:
o MAC OSX – we are a MAC based office
o Vectorworks Landmark 2022 experience or an ability to learn this program quickly, with an expectation of proficiency in the software within 2-4 months from hire date
o SketchUp
o MS Office Suite
o Adobe Design Suite
o Hand sketching and lettering
o Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to success in this position
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
o A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture
o We prefer a Licensed Landscape Architect (California license preferred, but not required)
o Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate related professional experience, including project management, design and detailing experience with an accomplished firm
o Currently authorized to work in the US without the need for a visa sponsorship now or in the future
