Land Steward, Aravaipa

The Aravaipa Land Steward performs and participates in preserve operations, maintenance, and management. The Land Steward will live on-site in housing provided by TNC and maintains preserve areas frequented by the visiting public and performs land management activities.  The Land Steward coordinates preserve stewardship work and general operations including maintenance and general preserve management. The position is broken down into the following areas:
Land Management, 50%
General Public Activities, 10%
Maintenance, 30%
Administration, 10%

At a minimum this position requires a HS diploma or GED and 1 year related experience in land management, or equivalent combination of education and experience as well as the following: experience operating various types of equipment in a safe and efficient manner (e.g., lawn mower, chainsaw, tractor, two-way radio, GPS device, UTV, ATV or OHV, etc.), must have or be able to obtain related licenses and/or certifications as required (e.g., First Aid, CPR, herbicide application, firefighting, etc.), working with computers and related software, such as Windows, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word), cloud based storage programs, web browsers and internet research, and regularly lift, pull, push, move 25 pounds. able to obtain related licenses and/or certifications as required (e.g., First Aid, CPR, herbicide application, firefighting, etc.)

The ideal candidate will also have multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated, 1-2 years related experience in ranching, farming, landscaping, and building maintenance, the ability to recognize plants and animal species, and the ability to manage time and diverse activities under deadlines.   

The normal work week will be from Tuesday through Saturday. The candidate selected for this position will live on-site in TNC provided housing.
