Portfolio Investment Analyst
A Boston Asset Management firm is seeking a Portfolio Investment Analyst to join their Research and Consulting team. This individual will work with a team of analyst assisting with analytical requests centered around multi-asset portfolios, investment products, asset allocation and manager research. This position will support research efforts and strategies, develop a research process that screens managers, attend investment committee meetings and contribute to macro strategy discussions.
1+years within financial services, proficiency with FactSet, Morningstar Direct and Bloomberg all a plus! Strong comp package and a full suite of benefits.
Responsibilities
Investment Analysis:
- Collaborate with fellow Analysts in fielding analytical requests centered around multi-asset class portfolios, investment products, asset allocation, manager research, and thematic analysis
- Support Consultant Team in performing forensic analysis and prove strategies as to the application, interpretation, and efficacy of risk measurement metrics in client-facing opportunities
Investment Research:
- Support investment research efforts and strategies centered around manager selection and asset class surveillance
- Develop a personalized research process that involves screening managers on qualitative and quantitative criteria
- Attend Investment Committee and sub-committee meetings as needed and actively contribute to macro strategy discussions and research initiatives
Project Work:
- Partner, support, or lead inter- and intra-department projects and business initiatives including requirements gathering, testing, and production release
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the technology infrastructure, including all licensed and proprietary software applications and data
- Collaborate with business partners and technology vendors on operational improvements to systems and data needs
- Create efficiencies, scalability, and automation in process and reporting and capitalize on the use of all proprietary and licensed data and technology

Education / Experience / Skills Required
• Undergraduate degree in Finance or related field
• Have accomplished, or be in pursuit of, an advanced degree or industry designation
• Proficiency with risk and analytical software (MPI Stylus, FactSet, Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, Tableau)
• Demonstrated knowledge of MS Excel including macros and VBA
• Experience working with client-facing teams, analytics, and thought leadership
• Refined written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines, while remaining flexible toward unexpected changes
• Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and resourcefulness
• FINRA Series 7 License required (or achieved within 6 months)
