Senior Research Associate

A Boston investment firm is seeking a Senior Research Associate to join their Consumer Cyclicals team. This is an excellent opportunity to conduct fundamental industry and issuer credit research. The Research Associate will work on a small team assisting two senior analysts, will build financial statement models, source and present industry and company relevant information including some ESG factors, and write reports. This individual will also develop an understanding of valuations and financial markets, and interact with various members of the investment teams including research, trading, and investment management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth fundamental industry and issuer credit research and analysis (for bonds and bank loans) as part of a collaborative team led by senior analysts
- Build and maintain financial models, including projections
- Source, analyze, and present industry, company and other credit-relevant information and data, inclusive of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors
- Identify and assess credit risk factors and develop an understanding of relative valuation and financial markets
- Contribute to the new issue process, detailed credit updates, in-depth sector reviews, and other research memos and presentation materials
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in investment management, bank training or closely related firm
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business
- Progress towards CFA or MBA is preferred
- Must have financial analysis experience and ability to learn quickly and source information
Base compensation: $100K+
Bonus: 40%
