Registered Professional Forester

TRC Companies, Inc., a pioneer in groundbreaking scientific and engineering developments since the

and government, implementing complex projects from initial concept to delivery and operation.
 
TRC is seeking a highly motivated Registered Professional Foresters (RPF) to join our growing Field Services team in Northern California. This position will integrate into a well-developed team working to support our client’s Wood Management Program. Our Registered Professional Foresters will support our field projects including the monitoring of forestry and conservation activities and ensuring activities are compliant with government regulations. 
 
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
·      Organize and devise methods of control for forest fires, inspect pests, and tree diseases.
·      Determine methods of cutting and removing timber with minimum waste and environmental damage.
·      Complete planning, layout and execution of forest restoration and timber harvesting projects on private and public lands.
·      Assess damage to trees and lands caused by fires and logging activities.
·      Determine a fire’s impact on a region’s environment.
·      Assist in utility vegetation management projects.

Requirements
 
·      Bachelors degree in Forestry or related field.
·      Familiarity with multiple agency / government levels (Federal / State / County / Municipal / Tribal / etc.).
·      Familiarity with pertinent Environmental / Biological and Historical / Archeological processes throughout California.
·      Registered Professional Forester in the State of California.
·      Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
·      Experience working with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred but not required.
·      Candidate must be self-motivated, organized, production oriented.
·      Candidate must be comfortable working in an independent environment and managing a geographical area for all vegetation related activities.
·      Candidate must be able to work with stakeholders, utility customers, and line clearance vendors and have excellent interpersonal skills.
·      Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
·      Multi-tasking and strong time management skills required.
·      Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules (available nights and weekends as needed).
·      Valid driver's license required.
·      Willingness to travel to different project sites.
