This position is located at the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), in the National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Service (NESDIS), National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) with one vacancy in Boulder, CO or Asheville, NC.
As a Visual Information Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
- Supports the preparation of creative products geared toward technical, professional, and public consumers and various other stakeholders meant to enhance the organization's overall public footprint and understanding of scientific products and services.
- Assists higher level team members in the design of visual information material including printed publications, multimedia, video, photography, exhibits, logos and signs.
- Receives assignments and prepares final designs and arranges products for printing or electronic reproduction of completed products to be furnished to the customer.
- Uses word processing software to write design proposals and case studies geared to the characteristics and interests of particular audiences that increase understanding of the meanings and significance of products.
