The Job
Fruition Sciences Inc is looking for a Field Data Collection Specialist to oversee our Napa field operations team. The primary responsibility of this position is to plan data collection logistics to ensure accuracy and legitimacy of our vineyard sap flow data. This position is an integral part of assisting our team and customers to manage irrigations, conserve water and grow quality fruit.
This is a dynamic role that requires a combination of project management, data analysis, and technical work in order to oversee the installation and maintenance of our sap flow systems in various vineyards around the Napa/Sonoma area. The Field Data Collection Specialist and team select monitoring locations in the vineyard to install the sap flow systems and work to maintain the vines and equipment in order to provide customers with real-time vineyard data throughout the year. This requires a fast pace to keep up with vine growth and the ability to adapt to daily schedule changes due to weather or unforeseen vineyard operations. The ultimate measure of success for the Field Data Collection Specialist is a well-trained team and monitored sites that have few issues and valid data.
This is a great entry-level position for someone who is excited by agriculture technologies and wants to learn the ins and outs of a unique and innovative field. We are looking for someone who is independently motivated and can take the lead on projects after receiving the necessary training from our expert team. The Fruition Sciences team operates out of offices in France and the US and works with clientele across the globe providing for an interesting international work experience.
Responsibilities
- Training and management of the data collection team to ensure quality work
- Devise and implement efficient procedures for data collection and data analysis
- Assisting with sap flow data quality monitoring
- Warehouse management including equipment testing, inventory and ordering
- Vineyard work including installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of sap flow systems
Requirements and Skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- An analytical mindset with problem solving skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Must live in the Napa area and commute to the office and vineyard sites
