Applications Developer I

Overview:

The Mississippi Management and Reporting System (MMRS) is an office of the Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration (DFA). MMRS is responsible for creating and maintaining a central repository of current, accurate, and relevant management information. In that effort, MMRS is responsible for the development, enhancement, maintenance, and support of several statewide applications that combine to form this central repository.

This position is a Applications Development Team support role for Mississippi’s statewide accounting, purchasing, and human resources Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The employee will design and develop new applications and custom reports as well as develop enhancements to existing applications. Application developers may also design and develop security roles and authorizations for system end users.

 

Typical Duties:

Typical duties for this position include working with functional business teams to discuss system requirements, designing solutions based on specifications, and developing system solutions. Application developers continue to work with the functional business teams throughout the testing phase.

Professional Development:

Application developers at MMRS learn to work with SAP ABAP coding, build system integrations, and design solutions for business processes with complex requirements. Experience working at a statewide level for government is desirable due to the scope, complexity, and challenges associated with the delivered solutions.
