Supply Chain Logistics Internship January-June 2023

SUPPLY CHAIN LOGISTICS ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (6 MONTHS)

Supply Chain Logistics Engineering Description 
Located at the E. & J. Gallo Winery’s headquarters in Modesto, California, this facility is the center for production, distribution, and corporate decision making for the Domestic and International businesses. The Supply Chain Organization resides within the Operations infrastructure. It develops, delivers and flawlessly executes supply chain strategies and services that meet Business Unit needs. This is done by developing and driving world class processes and systems that provide timely and accurate information to all our customers; leveraging our planning, logistics and change management expertise to create and direct highly integrated production and deployment plans; exercising responsible resource management (people, money, assets).  The Engineering Center of Excellence is responsible for designing and executing capital projects that increase capacity, reduce operating costs and in the process of moving materials, both finished goods and components. 
 
Job Summary 
The Supply Chain Logistics Group is searching for appropriate candidates to fill the 6 month positions (January 2023 – June 2023) in our Internship Program.  Interns will work closely with experienced Managers to provide support for capital projects including the following activities:  design, equipment selection, data collection, continuous improvement projects, system qualification, timing models, standard work process audits, site acceptance tests and equipment start up activities.  Working closely with these experienced managers, the intern’s essential functions are as follows: 
  • Provide support and assistance on the design and execution of capital projects. 
  • Work on engineering teams to identify issues, collect appropriate supporting data, develop and present improvement ideas, and implements solutions. 
  • Develop critical parameters for equipment and systems. 
  • Develop/Maintain relationship and communications between suppliers, engineers, and operations. 
Minimum Requirements 
  • High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate. 
  • Currently enrolled at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor’s degree in the School of Engineering OR have obtained a Bachelor's degree from the School of Engineering.
  • Required to lift and move up to 50 lbs. 
  • Available for the entire duration of this internship program – January 2023 through June 2023.
Preferred Requirements 
  • Junior class standing at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. 
  • Basic knowledge of statistical analysis methods. 
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects. 
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills. 
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Access) at an intermediate level. 
  • Presentation experience. 
  • Familiarity with statistical software. 
  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and problem solving skills. 
Physical Demands and Work Environment 
  • Required to lift and move up to 50 lbs. 
  • Required to work both inside and outside with varying temperatures.
