GS-15 Mathematical Statistician | Social Security Administration

The Chief Mathematical Statistician serves as the expert in statistics and mathematics in the Office of Research, Evaluation, and Statistics (ORES); senior advisor on statistical matters to the Associate Commissioner; and ORES representative in working with other components of the Federal statistical community. The Chief Mathematical Statistician recommends and implements statistical policies, assures that appropriate methodologies and practices are used, and serves as the spokesperson in statistical matters for ORES.

Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at or equivalent to the Federal GS-14 level (or above) that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience must include leading, managing, or directing a statistical or research team, organization, project, or initiative responsible for developing, coordinating and supporting research and statistical data collection, processing, dissemination and disclosure that have an agency-wide impact.
