Ciena’s Information Security Office is helping keep our business secure. We are looking for an intern to join our security team. In this role, the person will be providing key support working with the Information Security teams to develop reports and dashboards to provide awareness and accountability of risks across the enterprise organization, and to highlight value delivery by the information security organization. The roles and responsibilities are as follows:
Specific areas of work could include:

  • Aligning key resources across the InfoSec organization on metrics prioritization and reporting cadence
  • Cultivate an understanding of security concepts to assist in identifying ongoing information, measurement and reporting needs
  • Acquire and consolidate information from InfoSec teams
  • Integration and data extraction from application and Infrastructure security solutions
  • Provide key support in analyzing and interpreting security data using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to complex data wrangling and mining
  • Develop solution to automate data ingestion and cleansing to ensure data quality and integrity
  • Work with Big Data solutions such as Snowflake to aggregate, sanitize and normalize data for dashboard integration
  • Dashboard development using Power BI, Tableau and other dashboard solutions
  • Work as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team to collect, verify and sanitize data

  • Knowledge of API integration (bonus, not required)
Education

  • Pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science with a concentration in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, Decision Sciences, Risk Management, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or other business/technology disciplines
