2023 Risk Analyst Summer Internship

The Role 

We are seeking a highly qualified Risk Analyst Summer Intern to join our Risk team. This team is responsible for helping portfolio managers think about different dimensions of risk, and further help with portfolio construction decisions designed to optimize risk adjusted returns.    

                                                                                                                                                            

As a Risk Analyst Summer Intern, you’ll spend ten weeks with the Schonfeld Risk team, focusing on a quantitative risk research project related to some aspect of risk measurement and forecasting, liquidity measurement, or portfolio optimization and construction. The research project will be empirical in nature and will involve the use of advanced quantitative techniques and market intuition.

You will be assigned both a manager and mentor, participate in organized team-building events, lunch and learns, social activities, and network with senior management throughout the summer. You will be assigned a summer-long project that will be directly related to the work of the team you are assigned to, which you will present on at the completion of the program. Upon completion of the internship, you may be extended a full-time offer of employment.

The Schonfeld summer internship provides students with a unique opportunity to experience Schonfeld, our work, our people, and our culture. Interns will typically join a small team and will spend 10 weeks at Schonfeld from June - August.

Each summer intern will work on a tailored project that will provide them with real world experience. We provide all interns with a dedicated mentor and manager to help them navigate the summer successfully. Interns will also participate in our learning program, the Sapphire: Summer Session, which aims to provide tangible skills training and education on various functions across the firm and in the workplace. Along with the hands-on guidance and support from managers and mentors, interns will participate in weekly networking events, engage with our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Alliance, attend panel discussions, and have many opportunities to get to know Schonfeld’s core values in practice.
