Information Systems Analyst
Under general direction of the Applications Product Manager this position is responsible for providing complex and independent analysis with the goal of process improvement for the technical and functional support of the information systems that support the Student Success and Support Program (SSSP) initiatives of the college. This includes but is not limited to day-to-day communication with users of systems specifically designed to improve student success. Simple and complex problems will be researched. This position will make recommendations after presenting a list of options to stakeholders by interpreting data, the flow of data, methods, processes and procedures. It will also include technical support, overseeing system upgrades, reviewing release guides and patches, developing test plans, technical writing and specifications, training department staff, and the reporting of system defects including all technical aspects of third party software. Develop reports, analyze, and communicate a wide range of institutional research information that support decision making. The position may perform a variety of functional and technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. In the course of analysis, this position will follow established analytical techniques and data analysis processes. When established methods are not available or adequate, guidance and information from supervisors, peers, software vendors and technical staff should enable the analyst to come to a reasonable recommendation that complies with district policies promotes user acceptance. Tact and professionalism are essential in dealing with both internal and external stakeholders.
