Business Analyst I - Entry Level - December Grads

Job Summary
Learn to provide support and services for business areas by means of research, analysis, testing, project requirement definition, documentation, training and production monitoring for system and application efforts across all platforms. Work with end users and may collaborate with technical personnel. Participate fully in the project development process, contributing to the development, enhancement and maintenance of company and vendor systems on various platforms. Contribute to the decision making process of assignments through the unit management as well as on project teams.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience.
Experience: 0 - 2 years - or Associates Degree equivalent plus 2 - 4 years.
Knowledge: Limited to moderate knowledge of industry practices, standards, and concepts within field of work. Learns to apply them to the job.
Decision Making: Learns to make decisions and recommendations for varied situations, applying judgment to interpret related information, policies, and procedures. Decisions generally impact specific tasks.
Supervision Received: Works independently under moderate to general supervision, receiving specific and detailed instructions on new types of work.
Leadership: Works as an individual contributor. Learns the job.
Problem Solving /Operations/Direct Work Involvement: Applies knowledge to help solve problems of relatively limited scope and complexity which require independent thinking.
Client Contacts: Contacts other departments and or external organizations or parties frequently. Contacts are primarily at or below middle management levels. Communication is primarily task-related and involves creating and delivering varied types of messages and information.
 
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum of two (2) years analytical experience.
Knowledge of property and casualty insurance business a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Procedural development/workflow analysis experience preferred.
Effective organizational, time management, and problem solving skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to multi-task, manage details, and execute effective follow through.
Experience in defining and documenting business requirements and use cases a plus.
Experience in developing and executing system test plans and test matrices a plus.
Proficiency in the use of desktop applications.
