Motorsport UI Technical Artist

Position Summary
The Motorsport UI Technical Artist is responsible for implementing industry leading HUD and front-end UI for the client’s AAA motorsport video game franchise (in-game). This is not an engineering position however the Motorsport UI Technical Artist will need to be technically adept across design tools and script environments. Must Have Requirements:
  • 3+ years of professional experience using XAML
  • 3+ years of experience of a UX/UI design or art background
  • Strict attention to detail, follow red lines and use style guides to get to the pixel perfect layout
  • Self-motivated proactive problem solver
  • Portfolio that demonstrates UI screen work experience

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implement UI screens for interactive game features including data driven dynamic layouts, animations, and transitions
  • Partner closely with engineers, developers, designers and other technical UI artists to integrate UI screens into the game
  • Work from visual comps, motions designs and style guides to translate complex UX wireframe diagrams and UI visual concepts into in-game UI
  • Use Sketch and XAML pipeline to deliver a large scale of UI content
  • Perform other duties as needed
 
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Industrial Design or related field preferred
  • Experience with one or more major UI creation toolsets such as HTML5, Flash, Sketch, Microsoft Blend, Unity, Unreal
  • Experience shipping content with limited performance budget
                                                                                                                        
Qualifications:                                                                                                                                         
  • Sensitivity and discerning eye for following typography and layout redlines
  • Interest in accessibility and multi-platform scalable UI preferred
  • Strong knowledge of user interface and functionality design
  • Understanding of customer needs and motivations to successfully integrate them into product design to contribute to user features and functionality
  • Ability to generate design ideas and present and sell designs to broader product group
  • Have a clear understanding of each phase of the design process: information architecture + interaction design, research + usability, rapid prototyping, brand integration, and content creation
  • Ability to work in nebulous product spaces alongside numerous partner teams
  • Ability to frame and align to clear problems, vision, and goals
  • Ability to move from low-fi concept definition to iterative prototyping, to hi-fidelity design deliverables
  • Strong collaboration skills across disciplines and organizations
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with a range of design methods
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent email, telephone and virtual meeting etiquette
  • Customer service orientated, ensuring needs are met in a timely fashion
  • Ability to take opportunities for continuous improvement and implement documented process improvements
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently; demonstrated organization, problem-solving, project management, and time management skills         
  • Demonstrated strong ability to remotely work well within a team environment, or independently; strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to work and interact effectively with team members from other disciplines, cultures, and organizations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively inform and present ideas confidently and persuasively to peers and managers
  • Ability to take initiative to ask questions, ask for help, or provide updates, without reluctance
  • Ability to meet the eligibility requirements for working in the US without RLA sponsorship for employment visa status
  • Strong computer skills that include proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio), and SharePoint

Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently

Physical Demands:  
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. 
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel; reach with hand and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • At times, may require more than 40 hours per week to perform the duties of the position.

  • This role may use standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
