Quantitative Research Analyst

Forest Creek Capital LLC is a unique, fast growing private investment firm building an exceptional quantitative portfolio management team. We are seeking to hire talented and entrepreneurial problem solvers to design and develop cutting-edge quantitative models, systems and portfolios. We believe in developing our hires through focused on the job training, and giving early responsibility to build, test, own and manage trading strategies and portfolios.
 
Quantitative Research Analyst Job Description:
Analysts have end to end ownership from quantitative strategy development to deployment. Analysts design and build data and machine learning (ML) based models, portfolio optimization engines, decision support tools for use in automated financial trading strategies. Analysts work closely with the other team members to design and build our investment algorithms.
 
Key Responsibilities:
(1) Use data and machine learning (ML) techniques to test and optimize trading models, valuation and risk algorithms
(2) Employ data science and data mining methodologies to develop portfolio management strategies
(3) Conduct research and analyze market data to identify underlying drivers, provide decision support tools and develop mathematical models
(4) Test, maintain and monitor software infrastructure (computer programs and systems)

Skillset Requirements
  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree +equivalent experience in quantitative heavy fields such as mathematics, computer science, engineering or basic sciences
  • Strong programming skills (R/Python preferred)
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to quickly learn new, complex subject matter and intelligently apply it to solve real-world problems
  • Eagerness and ability to quickly learn new technologies and programming languages
