Management Analyst

The City of Monrovia is now recruiting for two energetic and dynamic Management Analysts for the City Manager’s Office and Public Works Department. We are looking for unique individuals that have a passion for public service and value serving the community. In this role, the incumbent will have the opportunity to address a variety of initiatives including managing and implementing City policies, grants and contract management, conducting complex research to provide recommendations and solutions for change. This position will assist in a variety of projects, programs and operational functions including, but not limited to:
 
City Manager’s Office
· Prepare City Council agenda reports, develop and manage budgets, and assist with grant applications;
· Research, analyze, prepare and execute complex and highly visible projects;
· Contribute to the City’s Public Information operation and community outreach efforts, including the CM’s update, Monrovia Today magazine, and Social Media;
· Liaison with different departments to assist with projects, procurement processes; and
· Build relationships with community partners and assist with contract management.
Public Works Department
· Ensure compliance with Federal, State and local laws, and ordinances including solid and hazardous waste, storm water, refuse collection, and recycling;
· Prepare City Council agenda reports, develop and manage budgets, and assist with grant applications;
· Facilitate the repair and construction of public spaces;
· Assist with traffic safety related issues, fleet management; and
· Research a variety of information sources, conduct special surveys and studies to compile reports.

Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the qualifications would be:
 
BA/BS in public administration, business administration or related field and one (1) year experience in administrative analysis and budgeting. Master’s Degree, bilingual skills, and the ability to exercise cultural sensitivity awareness is highly desirable.
