Technical Documentation Writing Intern

As an intern in TI's Technical Documentation team, you have the opportunity to learn and work in professional documenation tools, develop high-impact documentation and collaborate iwth product lines developing leading-edge semiconductor devices. 
The internship experience is geared towards individuals completing degrees in Technical Communications, Technical Writing, Rhetoric & Writing and who have an interest in: 
  • Developing documention to attract new customer, engage existing customers and influence customer action on TI.com
  • Partnering with TI engineers to create clear, accurate, technically credible documentation that adheres to TI writing fundamentals, standards, and TI brand guidelines
  • delivering great content on-time with a sense of urgency and engagement
What you will gain from this role:
  • Deepen your communication and time management skills
  • Buildrelationships with other technical writers and TI engineers
  • Learn how to use Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA)
  • Understand how writing guidelines and standards are applied to technical content
  • Experience XML editors: Oxygen, Tridion Docs
  • Understand different types of technical documentation

Minimum Requirements: 
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Communications, Technical Writing, Rhetoric & Writing or a technical degree with writing experience or writing courses.
  • Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA or higher

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to learn new tools and process

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Results and deadline oriented; Customer-service oriented

  • Basic understanding of engineering concepts and verbiage
