Research and Technology Co-op

Location: Watts Corporate Headquarters in North Andover, MA

The Watts Internship/Co-op Program is strategically designed to provide you with the opportunity to utilize what you have learned in the classroom while gaining a true understanding of the business world by applying those key principles through hands-on experience. During the Co-op, students will gain exposure to and impact operations. There will be many chances to network with like-minded professionals in manufacturing, industrial engineering, and beyond to stimulate your mind through cross-departmental collaboration.

What You’ll Do   
The Research and Technology Co-op is designed for a driven student who is interested in testing, developing, and building next-generation valve technologies and data analytics. You will be expected to teach yourself new skills and apply them to do your job, but you will receive guidance and mentorship along the way. You will learn how to work in a professional environment and have ample opportunity to network with department leaders and other professionals in the Watts Water Technologies organization. The Co-op offers exposure to the following:

  • Run experiments and test product concepts
  • Support the design of new prototypes
  • Processing data from prototypes and auxiliary systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and do not require sponsorship now or in the future  
  • Strong record of academic achievement
  • Familiarity with machine learning, mechanical design, mechatronics, analytics, fluids, electronics
  • Ability to gather and synthesize feedback from different stakeholders
  • Excellent critical thinking/problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Independent learner
  • Interested in learning about Watts Water Technologies
  • Self-starter
  
Working Conditions  
  • Work in an office or manufacturing environment   
 
*Physical Requirements   
While performing the duties, the employee will be working in an office environment with exposure to the plant floor as well as the Engineering Test Facility. The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle objects and other tools.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The Employee may be required to lift, push, and/or pull up to 20 pounds.
