Business Analyst / Information Technologist II
Position Summary
The MSU IT Business Analysis team uses industry standard business analysis techniques and tools to help customers articulate needs, rationales for change, and recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders. This position reports to the Business Analysis Manager.
Responsibilities for the Business Analyst include defining and modeling project requirements comprise the foremost value-add function of this position. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analyzing and documenting business processes; conducting needs assessments; eliciting and modeling requirements in narrative and visual formats; liaising between MSU business and academic units, MSU IT, and vendors; preparing and presenting recommendations for improvements to existing systems and processes; and influencing continuous improvements to business analysis processes and tools.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in business analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and ability to communicate with multiple audiences; ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve goals; five to eight years work experience in business analysis; proven track record of successfully leading business analysis in a complex environment; critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills; excellent analytical skills and ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines; ability to work in demanding and dynamic environment.
