Remote Work is available with only 1-2 days per month of physical presence in the office required. When physical presence is required, employees are responsible for travel expenses to their office site. Additional Hybrid Telework and Alternative Work Week Schedules are also available.

The incumbent will serve as an application developer within the Enterprise Platforms Group (EPG), IT Operations Branch. The incumbent will be part of a highly skilled technical team who support and enhance the Department of Health Care Access and Information's (HCAI) most critical programs and services such as the HCAI Funding Portal, Cal-Mortgage Loan Insurance Program, California Primary Care Office, and other various programs that support California’s growing healthcare workforce and facilities.
 
EPG strives to deliver innovative IT solutions that utilize exciting, modern, cloud-based tools such as the Microsoft Power Platform (Dynamics 365, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps), DocuSign, Adobe Sign, and other Microsoft 365 Apps. The incumbent is expected to be highly motivated, passionate about information technology, and capable of working in a fast-paced IT environment. The incumbent will be expected to learn new technologies and business functions, adjust to changing circumstances, communicate effectively to staff and management, and provide valuable customer service.
 
Under general supervision, the incumbent will typically perform a variety of recurring, well-defined tasks that may encompass one or more units, functions, or processes in the Client Services, Software Engineering, and Business Technology Management domains as defined by CalHR.

Do you have the following education or experience?

Eighteen months as an Information Technology Technician; or
 
Two years of general information technology experience performing technical, analytical, or support tasks for computer systems or services in any of the six domains or emerging information technology fields; or
 
60 semester units (or 90 quarter units) from an accredited college or university including at least 15 semester units (or 22.5 quarter units) of information technology or closely related course work; or
 
Any equivalent combination of experience and education.
 
When using education to meet minimum qualifications, education must include the specified information technology or closely related course work.
